Materials and Methods
We tried transmission of taking image by using direct digital
X-ray system in the computer network, assuming
it is easy to identify from a remote place
(Fig. 2).
First, regular X-ray photograph of skull
was taken and assumed as ante-mortem dental
record of victim. Secondly, the above X-ray
photograph was digitized and indicated
on
the monitor of the Compuray. Subsequently,
we kept taking Compuray images of the aforesaid
skull as post-mortem data until their projection angles became identical to the ante-mortem X-ray image displayed on the monitor (Fig. 3).
By expanding the images and comparing the details obtained
by above method, we tried comparing by the
superimposition on the monitor (Fig. 4).
We carried out the personal identification
of the 2 murder cases' victims by using the
portable Compuray.
